India, Sept. 7 -- The date for Labor Day in 2026 is set for Monday, September 7, providing the usual three-day weekend which marks the unofficial end of summer for Americans. Restaurants, retail shops and other private institutions may choose to open during the holiday period, but the situation is different in the case of banks. Most banks located in the United States will be closed during Labor Day as the holiday is recognized by the Federal Reserve.

For customers, that means a bank visit may have to wait until Tuesday, September 8 however, ATMs, mobile banking and online account services can still provide access to many routine functions.
