India, Sept. 18 -- Korea Stock Market (KRX) Today (September 18): South Korea's stock market opened sharply higher on Friday, September 18, with semiconductor heavyweights Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix leading the rebound. The KOSPI climbed above the 6,800 mark after Wall Street ended higher overnight, while easing oil prices and lower US Treasury yields helped improve investor sentiment.

The rally came a day after the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 25 basis points. Despite the hike, US stocks gained overnight, with the S&P 500 rising 1.14% and the Nasdaq advancing 1.69%. Falling crude prices also helped ease concerns about inflation and bond yields.
