India, June 29 -- Three firefighters were killed while battling the Knowles Fire in western Colorado during wildfire attack operations on Saturday, according to the US Department of the Interior. The victims included Sydney Watson, 26, of Warrior, Alabama, who was assigned to the US Wildland Fire Service Rifle Helitack crew. Two other firefighters-from Arizona and Michigan-also lost their lives in the incident, while two additional firefighters were injured and are receiving medical treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
