India, Aug. 24 -- Kazakhstan's newly formed Adilet party has secured a decisive victory in the country's first election for the new unicameral Kurultai, winning 71.17% of the vote, according to preliminary results released by the Central Election Commission (CEC) on August 24. The result is expected to strengthen President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's political influence under Kazakhstan's new constitutional system.

The August 23 election marked the first parliamentary vote since Kazakhstan replaced its previous two-chamber Parliament with the 145-member Kurultai. Five parties cleared the 5% threshold required for representation, while voter turnout reached 74.08%, according to the latest preliminary CEC figures.
