India, Sept. 14 -- Steve Ballmer addressed the situation Sunday night through a lengthy social media statement, confirming that the LA Clippers will accept the NBA's punishment over allegations that the franchise worked around the league's salary-cap regulations. The decision comes after the league imposed some of the harshest sanctions in recent NBA history.

As part of the penalties, the Clippers lost five first-round draft picks and were hit with a $30 million fine over claims that millions of dollars were funneled to Kawhi Leonard through endorsement agreements involving team sponsors. Ballmer was also suspended for a year after the NBA determined he had "knowingly" tried to help Leonard secure off-court earning opportunities.
