India, May 22 -- The fantasy action entertainer Karuppu, starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, looks like it wrapped up its first week in theatres on a massive high, with some real big momentum. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film mixes mythology with a fairly intense courtroom drama, and Suriya plays a lawyer who kind of turns into the human avatar of Karuppusamy; at least that's the vibe.

Even if the movie saw a slight dip in collections on its first Thursday, the overall box office run is still staying very, very strong.
