India, Sept. 24 -- Jonathan Taylor Thomas, the former child star best known for playing Randy Taylor on Home Improvement and voicing young Simba in The Lion King, is back in the headlines after being arrested in California. The 45-year-old actor was taken into custody following a traffic stop in Westlake Village on September 21, 2026.

Thomas was a passenger in a car that deputies stopped after finding it blocking traffic at an intersection. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies were conducting a DUI investigation involving the driver when Thomas repeatedly got out of the vehicle and approached them. Authorities allege that he kicked a deputy in the stomach when they attempted to detain him.
