Joby Aviation Completes First Fully Autonomous Cross-Country Flight As JOBY Stock Slips Despite Milestone
India, Sept. 19 -- Joby Aviation announced on Thursday that an aircraft equipped with its autonomy technology has completed the first fully autonomous flight across the United States, a 3,199-mile journey from California to North Carolina's Outer Banks that involved zero control inputs from the aircraft's onboard safety pilot. The converted Cessna Caravan performed autonomous taxiing, takeoff, cruise and landing throughout the journey, according to a statement issued by the Santa Cruz, California-based company.
