India, Aug. 26 -- Jashn-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi Mubarak Wishes: Jashn-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi or popularly called Mawlid and Milad-un-Nabi, is an event commemorated on account of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Milad-un-Nabi in India will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and it is declared to be a gazetted holiday. This event takes place in Rabi al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Sunnis celebrate it on the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal, while Shias, particularly Twelvers, celebrate it on the 17th of the month.
