India, Oct. 6 -- World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has officially brought his 2026 season to an end as he continues his recovery from a right knee injury. The Italian has been out of action since his successful Wimbledon campaign in July and has now decided against making a return before the start of the new year.

Sinner confirmed the decision in a video message shared on social media on Tuesday, revealing that he will undergo a course of treatment for the knee problem. "Me, together with the doctors, have decided that I need a course of treatment for my knee, which means that the 2026 season is officially over," Sinner said, bringing an early close to his campaign.
