India, July 24 -- With the July 31 deadline for filing Income Tax Returns (ITRs) fast approaching, speculation about a possible extension is once again circulating on social media. Every year, taxpayers wonder whether the government will grant extra time, especially as the due date nears. However, as of now, there is no official announcement from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) extending the deadline.
