India, June 7 -- Renowned Iranian-French cartoonist, filmmaker and women's rights advocate Marjane Satrapi is dead at 56 years old, according to the French presidency. The famous author of the novel Persepolis is survived by works and legacy which have made impact not only in the literary field, but also in the film industry and even in the fight for human rights.
As cited from the French presidency, Satrapi was a remarkable personality in the French culture, whose works were dedicated to the promotion of freedom of speech.
