India, April 2 -- With just eight days left before Assam votes on April 9, the BJP has stepped up its campaign with a strong presence of Union Ministers across the state. Leaders including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman and Sarbananda Sonowal are leading rallies, roadshows, and outreach programmes. The BJP-led NDA is aiming to secure a third consecutive term in the state.

The campaign gathered pace on March 28 when Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati. He held a major roadshow from Arya Vidyapeeth Playground in support of BJP candidate Vijay Gupta from Guwahati Central. Large crowds gathered along the route. Later, Shah chaired a closed-door meeting with state BJP leaders to review booth-level preparations.
