India, May 1 -- In a major breakthrough to the bilateral diplomatic impasse, Iran has officially submitted a fresh proposal for negotiations with the United States through Pakistan, aimed at de-escalating regional hostilities in the Middle East and reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
The proposal has been directly sent to US President Donald Trump, but at this time, it remains unclear what's in it or whether the United States has officially accepted it.
