India, Sept. 19 -- Preparations for the Indian Premier League 2027 season are already underway, with franchises beginning to assess their squads ahead of what will be a landmark edition of the tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to conduct the IPL 2027 player auction in the second week of December, with the mini-auction set to be the final one of the current 2023-27 cycle. The event is also likely to return to India after the last three auctions were staged overseas, with Kochi hosting the most recent auction on Indian soil in 2023 before Dubai, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi hosted the subsequent editions.
