India, June 2 -- IndiGo has announced that it will discontinue its flights to Manchester starting August 31, citing escalating operational costs and ongoing international airspace restrictions that are significantly impacting long-haul operations.
The decision marks a major shift in the airline's international network strategy, especially on its recently introduced Europe routes. The airline currently operates flights to Manchester in the United Kingdom from both Delhi and Mumbai.
As part of this move, IndiGo will also return one Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which had been taken on lease from Norse Atlantic Airways. The aircraft was used to support the airline's long-haul expansion into European destinations.
