Gains were led by financials, autos, metals, and consumer durables, while pharma and healthcare lagged. Shriram Finance, Trent, and HDFC Life topped gainers, whereas NTPC and ICICI Bank dragged. Broader markets also joined the rally, with midcap and smallcap indices gaining around 1 percent each.
