India, Sept. 27 -- Kolkata is preparing for a landmark chapter in Indian women's football as the Blue Tigresses are set to play their first-ever international matches in the City of Joy. The India women's national football team will face Russia twice during the October FIFA Women's International Match Window, bringing European opposition to the Kishore Bharati Krirangan.

The fixtures will be India's first games since their record-extending sixth SAFF Women's Championship triumph in June and offer Crispin Chettri's side a high-level test against a team ranked significantly higher by FIFA.
