India, Oct. 22 -- India national cricket team begin their extended tour of New Zealand with the first of five T20Is in Christchurch on Thursday, followed by five ODIs and two Test matches. Led by Shreyas Iyer, the visitors will look to get back to winning ways after their T20I series against the West Indies ended in a 2-2 draw. The contest also marks the first meeting between the two sides since their clash in the 2026 T20 World Cup final. India are expected to rely on Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma at the top of the order, while young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could have to wait for his chance. With limited time to settle into local conditions, India's team combination and batting depth will be key factors.
