India, Sept. 22 -- The fixture will be the first senior men's T20I meeting between India and Japan. India, the reigning T20 world champions, will enter the contest with a strong squad featuring Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma and Axar Patel. Japan, meanwhile, will get a rare opportunity to face some of the biggest names in world cricket on home soil.

The match also comes at an important stage in Japan's development.
