India, Sept. 8 -- India and Japan are set to share a cricket field for the first time in men's international cricket when they meet in a historic one-off T20I on September 22, 2026. The match, being played for the Suzuki Cup, will take place at the Sano International Cricket Ground in Tochigi, Japan.

The fixture is more than a one-off game. It forms part of the Sport 75 initiative celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Japan and also serves as an important preparation game ahead of the 2026 Asian Games. India enter the contest as the reigning T20 World Cup champions, while Japan will get the chance to test themselves against the world's No. 1-ranked T20I side.
