India, June 23 -- Indian national cricket team have been dealt an early setback ahead of the Ireland T20I series, with Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out just days before the opening game in Belfast. The all-rounder has been sidelined by a quadriceps injury, which has resurfaced and now needs further attention before he can return to action.

The injury is not only a blow for the two-match T20I series against Ireland national cricket team but could also put his place in the upcoming white-ball leg of the England tour under doubt. Reddy had been picked in both India's ODI and T20I squads as the seam-bowling all-rounder option, especially with Hardik Pandya still out of the setup, but for now his return timeline remains unclear.
