India, Sept. 23 -- India will take on Iran in their second Group A match of the women's kabaddi competition at the Asian Games 2026 on Wednesday at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium.

The Indian women started their title defence with a comfortable 42-21 victory over Bangladesh on September 21.

Captain Manisha Kumari will lead the Indian starting seven against Iran, with Pushpa, Sonali Vishnu Shingate, Ritu Negi, Pooja, Bhavna Devi and Sanju Devi also named in the starting lineup.

Iran, meanwhile, also opened its campaign with a win. The Iranian team defeated Bangladesh 54-19 in its first Group A match and will now provide India with a tougher test as both sides look to strengthen their position in the group.
