India, Sept. 16 -- India-Pakistan Navy Ship Collision: A routine naval surveillance mission in the North Arabian Sea turned into a diplomatic dispute between India and Pakistan after vessels from the two countries collided in international waters on September 15. India says the Pakistani ship approached its warship at high speed and carried out unsafe manoeuvres before the collision. No major damage has been reported, but New Delhi has now formally protested the incident.
The incident prompted India to summon Pakistan's Charge d'Affaires in New Delhi on Wednesday, September 16. India also directed its Charge d'Affaires in Islamabad to lodge a similar protest with Pakistan's foreign ministry.
