Days after the high-level bilateral meeting between the Prime Ministers of India and Vietnam on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh held discussions with Vietnam's Deputy Minister of National Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, in New Delhi on September 13, with both sides seeking to further deepen defence and maritime cooperation.

The meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship between India and Vietnam, advancing regional security cooperation and taking forward the bilateral Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
