India, Aug. 14 -- The 80th Independence Day of India will be observed on August 15, 2026 and this day will be celebrated after completing 79 years since India attained its independence from British rule in 1947. The main program for Independence Day celebrations will take place at Red Fort, where the prime minister will address the nation however, on this particular day, traffic restrictions will come into effect not only because of the Independence Day celebration but for other purposes as well.
