As the capital prepares for the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort on Saturday, August 15, weather officials expect cloudy conditions and spells of light rain around the time of the morning event. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a chance of showers from the early hours, while the evolving monsoon system could keep parts of the city wet later in the day.
