India, Aug. 15 -- India captain Shubman Gill has won the toss and elected to bat first against Sri Lanka in the opening Test of the two-match series at the Galle International Stadium on Saturday. It marks the 600th Test match in Indian cricket history and the 50th Test at Galle.

Gill has opted for a three-spinner attack on a dry Galle surface, with Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Manav Suthar included in the playing XI alongside pacers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna.
