The former Team India skipper has been ruled out of the three-match series, which will take place after the one-off test between the two nations at New Chandigarh. With Kohli being ruled out, it presents an opportunity to young batters to take up his spot in the squad. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kohli's IPL teammate, Devdutt Padikkal, emerge as front-runners. Meanwhile, skipper Shubman Gill's opening partner from the Gujarat Titans, Sai Sudharsan, too, could earn a call-up to the team.
