India, June 5 -- Team India and Afghanistan will lock horns in the only Test as Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh in Mullanpur gears up to host its first Test and second international fixture. The only fixture hosted by the venue till date is the T20I between India and South Africa in December 2025, which the latter won by 51 runs. In the process, Mullanpur will become the 31st Indian venue to host a Test. Additionally, it will be the second Test between India and Afghanistan, the former winning the first in 2018 by an innings and 242 runs. The home side will be starting as strong favourites yet again.
