India, Nov. 1 -- IDBI Bank customers across India may face disruptions in branch-based banking services on November 2 and 3, 2026, as employees prepare to observe a nationwide two-day strike against the proposed privatisation of the lender. The protest has been called by the United Forum of IDBI Officers and Employees (UFIOE), which is demanding that the government withdraw its proposed stake sale to Canada's Fairfax Financial Holdings.

The strike is expected to involve more than 10,000 employees across the bank's branches and offices. The employees' organisation has opposed the proposed transfer of management control, arguing that IDBI Bank's financial recovery was achieved through public investment and the efforts of its workforce.
