India, June 1 -- The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Cricket Canada with immediate effect after citing "serious breaches" of its membership rules. The decision was taken during ICC Board meetings held in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 31, marking one of the most significant administrative actions announced at the session.

Despite the suspension, Canadian national teams will still be allowed to compete in ICC tournaments, with funding and participation managed through a controlled system to protect players from disruption. The ICC also confirmed that Cricket Canada has been given a clear roadmap for reinstatement, with governance reforms required and progress to be closely overseen by its Normalisation Committee.
