India, Sept. 23 -- Hurricane Polo has been hovering near the Pacific Coast of Mexico for quite a while. Now, some parts of Southern California, particularly those located along the coast have been flagged as high risk. Earlier this week, California's governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency, owing to weather related risks.

What is Hurricane Polo?

Hurricane Polo is a strong eastern Pacific storm that intensified quickly just off Mexico's southwestern coast. The raging storm recently strengthened into a category 5 hurricane.
