India, Aug. 7 -- The countdown has begun for the FIH Hockey Men's World Cup 2026, with the prestigious tournament set to take place from August 15 to August 30 across Belgium and the Netherlands.

For India, the competition represents another opportunity to reclaim hockey's biggest prize after a gap of 51 years, having last won the World Cup in 1975. India, under head coach Craig Fulton and skipper Harmanpreet Singh, are one of the top contenders for the tournament and have been consistent in the international circuit.But the road to glory will not be easy as India have been placed in a high-flying group that also includes England, Pakistan and Wales.
