India, Nov. 1 -- The Congress-BJP confrontation in Himachal Pradesh has intensified over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with the BJP accusing the ruling Congress government of misusing official machinery to mobilise people for the November 1 INDIA bloc rally in Delhi, while the Congress has stepped up its campaign against alleged voter deletions and the Election Commission's handling of the exercise.

The latest exchange came from BJP Himachal Pradesh co-in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Darshana Singh, who, addressing a party organisational meeting in Palampur on October 26, alleged that the Congress government was using public resources to arrange participation in the Delhi rally.
