India, Aug. 16 -- Navroz or Jamshedi Navroz is one of the most significant festivals celebrated by the Parsi-Zoroastrian community in India. It marks the spirit of renewal, thankfulness, family, prayer and a hope for the coming new year. The Parsi community constitutes one of the smallest minorities in India.

As per the 2011 Census, the number of Parsis in India stood at 57,264, against 69,601 in 2001 and the Ministry of Minority Affairs says that the population of the community declined from about 114,000 in 1941 to 57,264 in 2011. This demography makes Navroz much more than a festive event.
