India, Aug. 9 -- The United States is considering a major change to its immigration rules that could affect thousands of foreign workers who lose their jobs while holding employment-based visas. The government is reviewing a proposal to scrap the existing 60-day grace period, which currently gives eligible workers limited time to find a new employer or explore other legal options after employment ends.
The proposal is currently under review by the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and has not been finalised. Details of the proposal have not yet been publicly disclosed.
