India, July 31 -- Gujarat School Holiday Today (31 July, 2026): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) declaring red alerts for extremely heavy rains, storms, thunder, lighting and gale force winds in different regions of Gujarat, district administrations have instructed that all educational institutes should be shut down as a preventive measure.

Amongst such districts are Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Anand and Kheda with schools and colleges remaining closed on July 31. Emergency teams have been mobilized, evacuations started in affected zones and authorities have called for people to be vigilant. As per the State administration, 13 districts are on high alert status, while 39 flood vulnerable villages in Anand district are being monitored....
