Mandlekar's historical financial thriller Governor: The Silent Saviour, starring Manoj Bajpayee, has made a steady start at the domestic box office. Released into theaters during one of the most crowded release windows of the year, the film managed to secure an opening day net collection of Rs 90 lakh in India, with its gross domestic earnings reaching Rs 1.08 crore.

Given the intense theatrical traffic on its opening Friday, the specialized political drama delivered a respectable performance to carve out its own dedicated audience.
