India, Aug. 21 -- Gold Price Today in India (August 21): Gold prices surged sharply in India with the metal extending its weekly rally and moving above the Rs.1.60 lakh mark per 10 grams. As per reports, 24K gold is at Rs.1,60,480 per 10 grams, up by Rs.1,210 from the previous session. 22K gold climbed to Rs.1,47,100, while 18K gold rose to Rs.1,20,360 per 10 grams.

The rally followed a weaker US dollar, lower Treasury yields and continued demand for safe-haven assets. Gold also remained supported by central-bank purchases and stronger investment demand, while investors tracked geopolitical and inflation risks.
