India, Aug. 2 -- Three people were hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries following a crowd crush triggered by a fire at the entry gates of the Ghana Party in the Park festival (also known as Shattafest UK) in Barnet, north London, on Saturday, 1 August 2026.

What Happened?

A small fire broke out near the main entrance of Copthall Playing Fields shortly after 18:00 BST, prompting security to temporarily close the gates.

While the fire was being handled, a large crowd built up outside the entrance. When the gates were reopened, a massive crowd surge and stampede occurred as people rushed through the bag and clothing check lines.
