India, June 23 -- The France national football team look forward to their second FIFA World Cup 2026 group-stage fixture with momentum on their side after defeating Senegal 3-1 in the opening match. Led by Kylian Mbappe, Les Bleus sit atop Group I and can confirm a place in the Round of 32 with back-to-back victories. Although France found it difficult to breach the Senegal defence in the first half, they took control after the break. Mbappe opened the scoring before Bradley Barcola made an immediate impact from the bench. The French captain later added another to his tally to wrap up a comfortable win.
