India, June 29 -- France suffered a setback ahead of the first FIFA World Cup knockout game, with Marcus Thuram doubtful for selection due to injury concerns. The Inter Milan star has not been a starter for Didier Deschamps side. He made his World Cup debut as a late substitute in the second group match against Iraq, replacing Kylian Mbappe. He did not appear in the last game, where France defeated Norway 4-1 to seal the top spot in Group L.

Reports suggest that Thuram sustained a calf injury, which might force him out of the upcoming Round of 32 match, slated to be played at the MelLife Stadium in New Jersey on June 30.
