India, Aug. 2 -- The flood situation in Assam improved slightly on Saturday as the number of affected people fell to 1.78 lakh, although floodwaters spread to more districts. Meanwhile, Odisha and Kerala continue to battle heavy rain, flooding and rescue operations as thousands remain affected across both states.
