India, June 10 -- The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to make history as the biggest edition of the tournament ever staged. For the first time, 48 nations will compete for football's most coveted prize, expanding the field from the traditional 32-team format. Co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, the tournament will be played across 16 host cities and feature a record-breaking 104 matches.
