India, June 27 -- The league phase of the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup has produced memorable upsets, breakout performances and plenty of drama. With the introduction of the Round of 32 for the first time in World Cup history, every qualified nation now faces a win-or-go-home challenge as the road to the final on July 19 begins.

As of June 27, 28 of the 32 Round of 32 spots have been confirmed.
