India, March 25 -- The 2026 Formula 1 season is on its way to the legendary Suzuka Circuit this weekend, but the show won't include one of the biggest stars of the paddock during the Thursday media sessions. Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team has announced that two-time world champion Fernando Alonso won't attend his media day duties for the Japanese GP.

The 44-year-old Spanish driver will be getting to the track much later than usual, which immediately raised questions about whether he would be able to participate in the weekend. Nevertheless, the team quickly reassured fans by confirming that the icon would be behind the wheel of his AMR26 for the first practice on Friday.
