India, June 15 -- A massive nationwide recall has been issued for more than 500,000 packages of macaroni and cheese due to the presence of an undeclared allergen. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the sweeping recall after it was discovered that the product contained soy lecithin, a common ingredient that was entirely absent from the product's packaging labels.

The discovery poses a significant health risk to the millions of American consumers who suffer from soy allergies or sensitivities, for whom even trace amounts of the substance can trigger severe reactions.
