India, Sept. 12 -- For many FASTag users, changing the bank linked to the vehicle has meant an unnecessary extra task, closing the old account, getting a fresh tag and removing the sticker from the windscreen. The government has now introduced a simpler option. OneTag, a new FASTag portability facility, allows motorists to change the issuing bank while continuing to use the same physical FASTag.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari launched the facility at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai on September 11.
