India, Oct. 8 -- Mercedes have chosen to split its car specifications for this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, with championship leader Kimi Antonelli set to run the latest Malaysia upgrade while George Russell will use the older specification. The decision comes as the team continues to assess the performance of its recent development package, while Russell faces an additional setback after being forced into a power-unit change.

The split-specification approach was reported by F1 journalist Jon Noble on Thursday, with images from the Marina Bay paddock showing Mercedes preparing the two cars with different packages.
